COAL CITY – The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to be on the lookout for a pair of porch pirates on the loose in the Goose Lake area of Coal City.

According to reports, Deputies were alerted to the area of Goose Lake last night after a report of Amazon delivery packages stolen from the front porch of a residence.  The incident happened Monday sometime around 9 pm when a resident reported two men in black clothing taking packages from their porch.

The men left the area in a older red pickup with a ‘loud muffler’ headed south on Coal City Road.

Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to take preventative action to prevent such thefts, including having a signature verification requirement on delivered items or investing in a security camera.

If you should have a package stolen this holiday season, or at any time, contact your theft to police and contact a vendor immediately.
