Kankakee Man held on Murder charges after walking into Police Station, making claim

KANKAKEE – A man has been arrested on murder charges after he walked into the Kankakee City Police station Thursday morning and told officers he shot and killed his mother.

According to reports, it was around 10:30 am Thursday when 27-year-old Devail A. Bryant walked into the station and told officers of the claims that happened at his home in the 800 block of South Dearborn Avenue.  Officers investigated and took Bryant into custody after discovering 47-year-old Tamina Green dead of a gunshot wound in the home.

Bryant, who is the oldest son of Green, was arrested and charged with murder. 

Bryant is now being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
