JASPER COUNTY, IN – A man from Oak Forest, Illinois found himself in handcuffs after a reckless motorcycle crash in Jasper County earlier this month.
During the early morning hours May 13th, Jason K. Hook, 32 years old, was arrested on felony charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Reckless Driving following the incident.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, officers spotted Hook allegedly riding his motorcycle at an alarming speed in a 55 miles per hour zone near the intersection of State Rd. 49 and County Rd. 1100 N. The Deputy’s radar allegedly clocked Hook at 86 miles per hour, prompting a pursuit.
Despite reaching speeds well beyond the legal limit, Hook’s attempt to evade law enforcement resulted in a harrowing crash when he failed to navigate an “S” curve in the road. Following the accident, Hook was identified as the motorcycle’s operator and promptly taken into custody.
After receiving medical clearance at a nearby hospital, Hook was transferred to the Jasper County Detention Center.
Hook is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
