Project SUN, a local children’s behavioral health initiative, would like to invite parents and caregivers in Kankakee County to a free Parent Café event, hosted at the Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health tonight from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM. This Parent Café is the first of a monthly series, intended to regularly provide a space for parents to bring their questions and concerns, gain free training from local professionals, and connect with others who may share similar experiences.

January’s topic of discussion will be, “Recognizing Signs of Children’s Behavioral Health Concerns.” Presenters will include Dr. Raunak Khisty, Pediatric Psychiatrist with the Riverside Medical Center, Jackie Haas, President and CEO of The Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health, and Theresa Mitchell, a Parent Support Coordinator.
