Carol Stream, IL — An 18-year-old Student at Glenbard North High School is facing serious charges after allegedly making a threat towards the school’s principal.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin it happened Thursday when a tense atmosphere enveloped the High School after Zachary Kurzeja, 18, from Carol Stream, allegedly comment, “Hey man, if you heard someone shot at the principal at the head, don’t look at me,” which triggered an immediate investigation, leading to Kurzeja’s arrest by Carol Stream Police.

“My office takes any threat of violence aimed at a school very seriously,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin stated Friday.  Chief of Police William Holmer emphasized the need for a secure learning environment, asserting, “We can’t afford to take these incidents lightly.”

Kurzeja was charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct, a Class 4 Felony, and is now being held on a $250,000 bond.
