Victim who sought help at Gas Station after Stabbing dies

JOLIET – A 59-year-old man who came into a gas station last Monday seeking help after being stabbed in the chest has died.

Rickey Moffett died last Friday from his injuries after he came into Murphy Express gas station at 2504 West Jefferson with a stab wound in the chest around 7:45 pm Monday.  He was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in critical condition.

Joliet Police announced Monday Moffett’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.
