BOURBONNAIS – A teenager from Will County has become the latest victim among COVID-19 deaths. No additional information was released on the death by the agency.
The death was one of 40 reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
The agency reported an additional 2,428 newly confirmed cases Sunday afternoon, and added in today’s report Region 7 is ‘on track to move to Phase 4’ beginning Monday.
Region 7 would become the seventh Region in Illinois to move into Phase 4 restrictions. As of Sunday afternoon, the Region’s seven day rolling positivity rating was at 6.3%.
IDPH has now reported 1.1 million cases of COVID-19 statewide since the pandemic began, including 19,243 deaths. A total of 1.3 million vaccines have been given to residents statewide.
