Major League Baseball officials are ‘cautiously optimistic’ baseball could start by late June, or no later than July 2nd.

That according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, three executives with knowledge of the talks say at least 100 regular-season games could still possibly take place.

The games would be played with no fans.  The plan is pending and needs to be approved by medical experts.

Under the plan, three divisions with a ten-team plan would allow for a seasonal realignment during the pandemic, dismantling traditional American and National leagues.

CENTRAL

  • Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers
