Alert: Police on the Hunt for ‘Watseka Slasher’ After Daylight Assault

Watseka, IL – In an urgent news release by the Watseka Police Department Wednesday, the public has been alerted to be on the lookout for a man who cut a woman in a random daytime assault. 

According to Watseka Police the incident occurred on Wednesday morning at 10:45 AM in the 300 block of East Ash Street. A woman was reportedly approached by a male suspect asking for money. Upon her refusal, the suspect allegedly produced an object from his pocket, causing a laceration to her arm. He was last seen fleeing east on Ash Street. 

Authorities report the suspect, described as 5’9″ and possibly white or Hispanic, is still at large. The Watseka Police Department is actively investigating and encourages anyone with information to contact them immediately.
