Bicycle Chase in Illinois: Felon Captured with Firearm

HERRIN, Ill. – A suspicious bicyclist in a drug-prone zone led police October 4th to a gun arrest involving a felon.

According to Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, Michael K. Tucker was allegedly observed at the time speeding through the area, evading deputies. 

The chase came to a head on 17th Street when Tucker, attempted a swerve through parked cars and crashed the bicycle. A foot chase ensued, leading to his capture. 

Police reports say Tucker was in possession of a STAR 9mm pistol at the time of the wreck. He now faces multiple charges, including weapon possession as a felon, and is held at Williamson County Jail.
