CHICAGO – Commuters, brace for potential disruptions! The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced bridge lifts that might snarl traffic on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Starting at 7:30 a.m., a chain of 27 bridges, spanning from DuSable Lake Shore Drive to the Ashland Avenue Bridge, will rise in succession. Each lift, making way for sailboats transitioning from Lake Michigan to winter storage, halts road traffic for roughly 8-12 minutes.

Given the anticipated fleet of boats, delays might extend beyond the usual timeframe. Seeking alternate routes is advised. CDOT will soon update on more fall bridge activities.
