Elmhurst, IL – Suspect Nabbed After Fleeing Crash at Dead-End, Early Wednesday Morning

Elmhurst, IL – In the early hours of Wednesday, Elmhurst Police captured a driver who fled on foot following a crash at a dead-end in the Hawthorne and Harrison Streets area around 2:30 a.m. Initially, the vehicle had been stopped on the 700 block of S. Hillside Avenue before the driver escaped, leading to an intensive search.

The operation concentrated on Eldridge Park, enclosed by Madison St, Spring Road, Butterfield Road, and Commonwealth Lane. The pursuit ended successfully at 4:00 a.m. when police apprehended the suspect at the intersection of Madison and Fairview. 

Following the arrest, the Elmhurst Police Department has confirmed that the search is over and has issued an all-clear for the area. However, the identity of the suspect and further details surrounding the incident have not yet been released.
