Ford County, IL – In response to a potential threat reported on Friday morning, Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School will implement enhanced security measures as students return to classes this week.

Superintendent Travis Duley assured Panther families in a letter to parents over the weekend that the safety of students and staff remains a paramount concern, highlighting the district’s commitment to treating all threats with utmost seriousness. The school initially received information about a possible safety threat via its online reporting system, leading to immediate action including a police presence during student arrival times and mandatory searches for those entering the high school.

The district has been in close consultation with local authorities, including the Paxton Police Department, which has been commended for its swift and professional response to ensure the school’s safety. Duley encourages anyone with further information about the situation to contact the high school administration directly.
