Grain Bin Incident in Paxton Leads to Hospitalization

Paxton, IL – A worker was hospitalized after injuring his leg while operating a skid-loader inside a grain bin at the Ludlow Cooperative Elevator Co.’s facility in Paxton, Illinois. 

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Monday on U.S. 45. According to the Paxton Fire Protection District, nine volunteer firefighters responded with two fire trucks, and paramedics from the Gibson Area Ambulance Service also attended the scene. 

Firefighters were on site for approximately 30 minutes. Despite initial reports of entrapment, Paxton firefighters clarified that while the man was not trapped in the grain, he could not move due to his injuries.
