SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) has issued an urgent warning to LINK cardholders about a series of phishing scams.

A wave of fraudulent attempts has been reported, where scammers impersonating IDHS officials have targeted both Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beneficiaries and non-recipients statewide. The IDHS spokesperson emphasized the department’s policy, clarifying that legitimate contact would never involve requesting sensitive details like PINs or LINK card numbers.

Cardholders are reminded to safeguard their information and only use official channels: the EBTedge website, the mobile app, or by calling the dedicated hotline at 1-800-678-5465 for secure account access.
