Kankakee, IL – The Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force, in conjunction with the Kankakee Police Department, successfully apprehended Oshay L. Robicheaux, 23, from St. Anne, IL, on charges of probation violation. The arrest occurred without incident during a traffic stop on the 400 block of W Court St. on January 9, 2024.
According to the press release, Robicheaux was initially placed on probation in Wayne County, Michigan, following a February 2022 arrest for possessing a stolen 2021 Yamaha YZ250 motorcycle. This arrest involved the Detroit Police Department and U.S. Customs. Subsequently, in September 2023, he was apprehended by the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force for possessing a 2012 Chrysler 300 with parts from a stolen 2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye. This case is currently ongoing in Kankakee County.
The probation violation warrant, issued by Wayne County due to his arrest in Kankakee, was sent to the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force on January 8, 2024. Robicheaux is now detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Wayne County, Michigan.
