Route 30 Closed Due to Large Commercial Fire in Plainfield

Plainfield, IL – A major commercial fire led to the shutdown of Route 30 in the 15900 block of S Lincoln Highway.

Plainfield Fire Protection District, along with several other departments, responded to a blaze at an auto body shop. The fire, which began around 3:30 p.m., showed heavy smoke and flames, prompting a significant response, including units from Lockport and Romeoville.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid the area as firefighters work to control the situation. Details regarding the cause of the fire and potential damages are still forthcoming.
