Indiana K-9 Hero Thwarts Armed Suspect in Muncie Pursuit

MUNCIE, IN – Drama unfolded in Muncie Sunday night as Indiana State Police Officer K-9 Yana became the town’s four-legged hero. 

According to State Police it began around 10 p.m., when a Trooper attempted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Camaro driven by 31-year-old Davion Cousins. Cousins reportedly led officers on a chase, driving through residential yards before becoming stuck in the ground.  As the chase turned into a foot chase, Cousins allegedly threatened Officer Yana with a firearm during a foot pursuit.  Officer Yana proceeded to tackled and disarmed him, leading to his arrest. 

Cousins now faces a litany of charges, including multiple felonies for resisting law enforcement.
