Jackson County, IN – Motorcyclist Fatally Ejected in Afternoon Crash on Rural Road

Seymour, IN – A devastating single-vehicle motorcycle accident occurred this afternoon in rural Jackson County, resulting in the death of a Seymour man. 

According to Indiana State Police, the incident happened at approximately 3:45 pm when Timothy Kerkhof, aged 40, from Seymour, Indiana, was navigating his silver 2004 chopper motorcycle southbound on County Road 700 East. As he approached the sharp curve near County Road 725 North, just north of Seymour, Kerkhof lost control and was subsequently ejected from the motorcycle.

The crash led to fatal injuries for Kerkhof, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office. 

Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionists are currently assisting with the ongoing investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident.
