Rensselaer, IN – In a real-life “fish out of water” scenario, a routine traffic stop for a faulty tail light in Rensselaer turned into a significant arrest early Saturday morning. The motorcyclist, initially identifying himself as Ryan Lewis, was eventually netted after a brief chase and found to be none other than Ryan Fish, a local man with outstanding warrants.

According to Rensselaer Police, the pursuit began around 2:00 a.m. when an officer attempted to stop a motorcycle lacking proper registration and a working tail light. Fish did not stop immediately and attempted to seek refuge in a nearby residence, ignoring the officer’s commands. His attempt to slip away escalated to resisting arrest.

Once in custody, the officer recognized Fish and found him to be wanted on multiple charges. Additional illegal substances were discovered, leading to charges including resisting law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine, some elevated to felony status. Despite the slippery start, law enforcement managed to reel in Fish, who remains innocent until proven guilty.
