Iowa Tornado Outbreak: NWS Confirms Four More Tornadoes from May 21st

Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has identified four additional tornadoes from May 21st, bringing the total to eight for that day. These tornadoes include:

  1. Exira Tornado (EF-1) in southern Audubon County
  2. Arbor Hill Tornado (EF-2) in northeast Adair County
  3. Martensdale Tornado (EF-0) in northwest Warren County
  4. Spring Hill Tornado (EF-0) in northwest Warren County

According to NWS Des Moines, post-event analysis continues, and results remain preliminary. The tornadoes caused no reported injuries or fatalities. Further analysis and refinement of the damage are expected in the coming days.
