Madison, WI – Wisconsin residents have only a few days left to apply for a highly sought-after elk hunting license.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the application fee is $10, with $7 directly supporting elk habitat management, research, and population monitoring.
Since 2018, Wisconsin has held an annual elk hunt, part of a collaborative reintroduction effort. This year, hunters can choose between the Black River Elk Zone or the Clam Lake Elk Zone, each with a four-bull quota. Successful applicants will be notified in early June. Applications are available online through the Go Wild license portal. For more information, visit dnr.wisconsin.gov.
