72-Year-Old Arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine, Warrant in Kankakee

KANKAKEE, Ill. – Kankakee City Police made a drug arrest on Tuesday night during a routine traffic stop at Rosewood and Merchant.

According to reports, officers pulled over a car for a traffic violation around 8:30 p.m. During the stop, they discovered that the front seat passenger, 72-year-old Irving Taylor, had an outstanding warrant.

When Taylor exited the car, officers searched the floorboard where he had been sitting and found suspected crack cocaine, allegedly belonging to Taylor.  Taylor was immediately arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance in addition to the outstanding warrant.

Taylor, a resident of Kankakee, is currently being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.
