Boil Order Alert: Ashkum Residents Urged to Take Precautions

ASHKUM, Ill. – The Iroquois County Public Health Department has issued a boil order for the village of Ashkum. The announcement came on Thursday at 2 p.m.

All residents on Cloke and Hubert Streets, as well as those on Front and Second Streets south of Lake Street, will be affected until further notice. The order is in response to a potential contamination in the water supply.

Officials are urging residents to boil their water for at least five minutes before consumption or use bottled water as a precautionary measure. The department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
