Bourbonnais, IL – Local Talent Shines at the 2024 VEX Robotics State Championship

Bourbonnais, IL – Olivet Nazarene University was a hive of excitement as the VEX Robotics Illinois High School State Championship concluded with a flourish of victories. 

From March 22 to 23, over 150 pre-qualified teams from all corners of Illinois gathered, driven by a common passion for robotics and innovation. State Representative Jackie Haas honored the outstanding achievements of the competitors, who exhibited not just technical expertise but also sportsmanship and creativity.

The intense competition saw teams from various high schools pitting their meticulously crafted robots against one another. These matches were about more than just winning; they represented the dedication and future of STEM education in Illinois. With a supportive crowd and an atmosphere thick with anticipation, students put forth their robots, hoping to secure a place at the VEX Robotics World Championship.

At the championship’s close, several teams stood out, earning accolades for their exceptional designs, strategic gameplay, and robot skills. Each award signified a unique accomplishment, reflecting the diverse skill set of the participants.
