Bourbonnais, Kankakee High Schools on heightened alerts after threats issued this week

BOURBONNAIS – Two area high schools were on heightened alerts this week after threats were made.

Kankakee High School issued a soft lockdown as a precaution after becoming aware of a threat to the school, posted to social media. Administrators reportedly became aware of information concerning a bomb threat, the info was relayed to the FBI who reached out to the Kankakee Police Department.

As a precautionary measure, all entrances and exits at Kankakee High School have been closed off with the exception of the main office.

Bradley-Bourbonnais High School was also on alert following a message posted to Snapchat. No details on the threat were released but the school was apparently not directly mentioned in the message.
