Bourbonnais Police Successfully Negotiate Peaceful Surrender of Fleeing Suspect in Local Neighborhood

Bourbonnais, IL – In a brief but intense episode, a 19-year-old man from Bourbonnais led police on a chase before surrendering at a residence Tuesday afternoon. 

According to reports the incident, which unfolded around 2:30 PM, began when police attempted a traffic stop at Main Street and Route 102. The man, allegedly evading the stop, sped off, eventually making his way onto Career Center Road and into the Bordeaux Estates. It was there he entered a home, leading to a standoff. With the aid of his family, the man was coaxed into a peaceful surrender. 

Although his identity has not been released, he is currently facing charges for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and various traffic infractions, and was transported to a hospital for evaluation post-arrest.
