Cass County, IN – Logansport Car Fire Leads to Arson Charge, Arrest Amid Robbery Investigation

Logansport, IN – A car fire in Logansport spiraled into an arrest and ongoing robbery investigation, shaking the early hours of a quiet Indiana community. 

According to Logansport, police reports responding officers arrived in the 2000 block of E. Broadway Ave, along with firefighters encountered a vehicle ablaze, an incident later classified as arson. Subsequent to the car fire incident, a robbery was reported where an unidentified male allegedly demanded cash at gunpoint from a female victim. The police report the male fled, remaining at large despite immediate law enforcement efforts to find him.

The day’s turmoil continued as police detained 20-year-old Christopher Zarate of Logansport, allegedly connected to the arson and previous acts of criminal mischief. While Zarate faces charges, police persist in their hunt for the robbery suspect, calling upon the community for tips or information to lead to an arrest.
