Central Illinois: Foggy Morning Tragedy: Man Killed by Multiple Cars, Investigators Seek Leads

Danville, Illinois – Authorities are investigating a grave incident where a pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles in rural Danville. 

According to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred on 2030 East Road north of East Voorhees Street, where Captain Michael Hartshorn, the Chief Investigator, noted that the victim was walking on the roadway around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday amidst dense fog and without streetlights. The man, wearing dark clothing, was hit by several vehicles, one of which stopped to report the incident, while another was found later that morning.

Authorities confirmed the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, though his identity remains unknown. Anyone with any information regarding the crashes as to contact the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department at 217-442-4080 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 217-446-8477.
