Motorcyclist’s Intoxication Leads to Crash Arrest

Chesterton, IN – A motorcyclist’s reckless ride ended in arrest after crashing at Mineral Springs and Old Porter intersection on Aug. 8. Porter Police Department (PPD) reported the rider’s high-speed spinout was refuted by multiple witnesses. 

According to PPD officers found alcohol odor, and the motorcyclist admitted pre-crash drinking. Field sobriety tests were followed by a chemical test refusal. A blood sample warrant was obtained for pending analysis. 

Charged with OWI, the unidentified rider also faced citations for lacking a motorcycle endorsement and expired plates.
