Chicago Heights Man Charged with Attempted Murder Following Expressway Shooting

CHICAGO – A Chicago Heights man is facing attempted murder charges in connection with an expressway shooting on Sunday.  

According to Illinois State Police, 22-year-old William A. Wesley of Chicago Heights, IL was booked on alleged Attempted Murder charges in connection with a terrifying expressway shooting that unfolded on September 3rd just before 2 am on I-90 northbound at Division in Cook County. 

According to reports a passenger of a white Ford sedan unleashed gunfire during a road rage altercation, miraculously leaving the driver unharmed.  A response by ISP Troop 3 troopers led to the apprehension of Wesley and two other passengers on Martin Luther King Drive and 83rd Street. 

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office swiftly approved the Attempted Murder charge against Wesley. Wesley faced a Cook County hearing on September 4, 2023, where bond was denied.
