CHICAGO, IL – Four fans were injured in a hit-and-run incident just moments before Tuesday night’s Chicago White Sox game outside Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Chicago White Sox organization took to social media to express their concern and support for the victims and their families.
“Our hearts go out to the four fans who were injured this evening, their families and friends, as well as the fans who witnessed the incident on their way to a baseball game,” the Chicago White Sox posted on their official social media accounts.
The team further extended their appreciation to the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Fire Department, the Illinois State Police, and the fans who responded promptly and provided immediate care for the victims. The injured fans were quickly attended to at the scene and transported to local hospitals for further treatment.
The Illinois State Police and the Chicago Police worked together to apprehend the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run, which later crashed on the Dan Ryan injuring four inside the vehicle.
No word on the current condition of the injured fans or the extent of those injuries.
An investigation remains ongoing.
