Cigna, one of Bourbonnais’ largest employers, announced late last night they will be closing their offices in Bourbonnais.“
The decision has been made to close the Bourbonnais site and transition all employees to work-at-home.” said Nikki, a company rep for Cigna in an email addressed to employees in the Bourbonnais network.
Cigna says the decision was reached after the employer held a town hall meeting in Bourbonnais to discuss the company’s future in the area. The move came after a real estate portfolio analysis at the corporate level.“
“In the upcoming weeks, you will hear more from leadership around this decision,” the email ads, “we don’t have all the specifics, but expect minimal disruption—if any—to our business.”
Cigna moved from the 150,000-square-foot Cigna Corp. building owned by Hager Pacific Properties in 2016. Since then, it’s offices have been located at 581 William Latham Senior Dr in Bourbonnais.
