Custer Park, IL – Firefighters tackled a blaze at an unoccupied residence on Saturday night in Custer Park, resulting in a temporary closure of Route 113.

The Braidwood Fire Protection District confirmed that there were no injuries as the property at 33629 West River Road was vacant at the time of the incident. Although the fire required substantial firefighting resources due to a lack of nearby hydrants, the combined efforts of multiple departments ensured the fire was controlled without involving adjacent properties.

The investigation into the fire’s cause is underway by local authorities.
