Free ‘Stop the Bleed’ Life-Saving Course Offered by Palos Park Police on March 5th

Palos Park, IL – Palos Park Police Department, in collaboration with the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), is hosting a vital “Stop the Bleed” training session. 

The free class is scheduled for March 5th, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Kaptur Administrative Center, located at 8999 West 123rd Street, Palos Park, IL.

This comprehensive course aims to empower attendees with essential life-saving techniques. It focuses on the rapid response to various bleeding scenarios, such as home or work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and mass shootings. Participants will learn to identify life-threatening bleeding and master effective methods to control it. The 90-minute interactive session includes hands-on practice with tourniquets, direct pressure application on simulated wounds, and instruction on how to pack wounds with medical gauze.

Sergeant Ross Chibe and Officer Fernando “Frank” Flores, the Emergency Preparedness/CERT Coordinators at Palos Park Police, are managing the event. Interested individuals are encouraged to reserve their seats or direct any queries to them at fflores@palospark.org or rchibe@palospark.org.
