Bloomington, IL – The Bloomington Police Department has reported a significant development in a high-profile murder case. Tomiyale M. Anderson, a 20-year-old male from Hampton, Georgia, faces multiple charges related to the death of Kanye Stowers in Bloomington.
According to authorities, the indictment against Anderson includes three counts of murder with the intent to kill or injure, one count of attempted murder with the intent to kill or injure, one count of murder with a strong probability of causing death or injury, and the aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied building. These charges follow a comprehensive investigation by the Bloomington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
Anderson was apprehended on Wednesday by the United States Marshals Service in Chicago. The operation involved collaboration with the Bloomington Police Department Street Crimes Unit, CID, and the Transportation Security Administration.
Chief Jamal Simington of the Bloomington Police Department commented on the case, expressing sympathy for the Stowers family and commending the dedication and hard work of the police force in pursuing justice for the victim and his family.
