Illinois home explodes, two dead over weekend

CHICAGO – Multiple agencies are investigating a house that exploded Saturday morning in rural LaSalle County, killing two residents.

According to LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office it happened at 3162 East 3rd Rd September 3rd at an undetermined time during the early morning hours.

LaSalle County Coroner’s Office reported 59-year-old Robert Waters died in the blast from injuries of an explosion.  A woman who also lived at the address died in the blast.  Her name has yet to be released.

The cause of the blast has yet to be released.  

The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, and ATF are investigating the incident.
