JOLIET – Refusal to enter a Liquor Store spiraled into violence last week.

According to Joliet Police reports, Dennis Montgomery, 31, has been previously flagged for disturbances at the store, allegedly sneaked in via an alternative door and attacked an employee on September 22nd. When Joliet officers confronted him later at a nearby gas station, Montgomery resisted and reportedly threatened the officers.

Despite the tense altercation, he has since been charged on allegations of Battery, Aggravated Assault, and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. Montgomery has since been released and is scheduled for a court appearance.
