BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — In a twist reminiscent of the Chicago Bears’ relocation just years ago, the famed Perry Farm, previously a gem of the Bourbonnais Township Park District, now claims the Village of Bradley as its official address.
The decision was cemented during Monday’s Village of Bradley board meeting where the annexation of Perry Farm was unanimously approved. This strategic move, according to a recently passed ordinance, will pave the way for the park district to pursue fresh grant opportunities. A pending grant from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) might soon fund the relocation of the Kennedy Drive sidewalk — a full six feet back. The shift is said to be a precaution, ensuring the safety of attendees during major events such as the beloved scarecrow festival.
Village insiders have hinted that this annexation promises more than just safety improvements. With access to Bradley’s tax reservoir, Perry Farm is poised for accelerated development, ushering in a new era for the historic site.
