Liberty Township, IN – A significant crane accident occurred on C.R. 1100N in Liberty Township, resulting in damages surpassing $100,000.

Porter County Sheriff’s Police reported that the incident happened at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, when a 150,000-pound crane, driven by a 56-year-old man from Palos Hills, Illinois, overturned. The operator cited his tires slipping off the road as the cause, pulling the massive vehicle into a ditch.

The crane was discovered lying sideways in the ditch on its passenger side. Authorities took Immediate action to shut off power in the area with heavy-duty tow services from Joe’s Towing and Waffco Towing were called to extract the crane due to its enormous size and weight.

Fortunately, the crane was removed without the need for further towing.
