Rensselaer, IN – An interstate shooting on I-65 in Indiana resulted in a truck driver sustaining life-threatening injuries and a three-hour shutdown of the highway.
According to Indiana State police reports, the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. near the 224 mile-marker, just south of the Roselawn/Demotte exit. Indiana State Troopers were swift to respond, providing critical first aid until a medical helicopter could transport the victim to a hospital in Indianapolis. The necessary landing of the helicopter on the interstate and the subsequent investigation by detectives and crime scene units led to a significant closure of both northbound and southbound lanes until 8:00 p.m.
