Joliet Teen Shot in Arm After Alleged Home Invasion with BB Gun

Joliet, Illinois – A 17-year-old male was shot in the arm by police following an alleged home invasion. 

According to police reports the incident, which took place on December 13 in the 1100 block of North Center Street, escalated when the teen reportedly held a BB gun. After reportedly refusing to drop the weapon and advancing towards an officer, he was shot. 

The juvenile, now charged with Home Invasion, Residential Burglary, and Aggravated Assault, was initially treated at Ascension St Joseph Medical Center and subsequently processed at the Joliet Police Department. He is currently held at the River Valley Justice Center. The Will Grundy Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
