Kankakee Blood Drive Honors Juneteenth and World Sickle Cell Day

Kankakee, IL – The Women of Prayer & Action will host their 8th Annual Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 19, at the Morning Star Baptist Church Community Center. The event, running from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., is in honor of World Sickle Cell Day and Juneteenth, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations in the Black community.

According to the Kankakee County Health Department, blood donations are critically low. Individuals who register will receive a $15 Amazon gift card and be entered to win additional prizes. Volunteers are urgently needed for the event. For more information and to register, visit RedCrossBlood.org.
