Kankakee County, IL – Authorities are delving into a peculiar case where a man reported his firearm stolen almost a month after noticing it missing. 

According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police, the incident unfolded when the individual reached out to them on Wednesday afternoon, revealing that he suspected his gun was taken from his unlocked vehicle. The alleged theft is said to have occurred while the man was at work along Lowe Road in early March. 

As the investigation continues, law enforcement urges the public to maintain vigilance and secure personal belongings, highlighting the risks associated with leaving vehicles unlocked.
