Kankakee, IL – A brutal attack unfolded on a quiet street Saturday evening where a 17-year-old teenager and his friend were violently assaulted by a group. The incident took place on the 1200 block of E. Oak St., where a group of attackers emerged from a vehicle in front of the victim’s home, launching a brutal assault.
The teenager, speaking to the police, described being threatened with a gun, his grandmother also receiving threats. In a desperate attempt to flee, he briefly escaped but was caught, severely beaten, and reportedly hurled over a chain-link fence. The assailants continued their attack by striking him in the head with a gun and stealing his cell phone.
Following the incident, Kankakee police located and detained four suspects in a vehicle suspected to be connected to the attack. Inside the vehicle, officers found two firearms and a cell phone. The apprehended individuals were identified by the victim as his attackers. Police are actively investigating the case to uncover further details and the motive behind the violent assault.
