BOURBONNAIS – After seven months of work, the Larry Power Road bridge overpass in Bourbonnais has reopened to area commuters.

The roadway was complete and open Wednesday afternoon.

Workers completed work on the overpass that first began in March this past week. The overpass which was upgraded to a new two-lane bridge featuring a sidewalk and lighting, totaled $3.8 million to complete.

Bourbonnais flipped the bill to install additional lighting in the area, a total of nearly $70,000 extra, with federal and state funding covering a significant part of the project.
