CHICAGO – Metra, Chicago’s leading commuter rail service, has introduced the Metra COPS app to enhance passenger safety.

The free app enables customers to discreetly and swiftly alert Metra Police of any concerns on trains or at stations. Users can report safety issues like crimes, suspicious activities, aggressive behavior, or unattended bags via the app, available for Apple and Android devices.

The COPS app allows commuters to send descriptions, photos, and videos of incidents while maintaining anonymity and disabling the smartphone flash for discretion.

Metra emphasizes that the app is solely for safety concerns, offering alternative channels for other inquiries.
