Coroner Requested after Male with Gunshot Wound Found in Field in Minooka

MINOOKA, IL – On Monday night, the Minooka Fire Protection District, Will County Sheriff’s Office, and Kendall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a major police incident after a male with a gunshot wound was found in a field on the side of the road near Wildy Rd and County Line Rd.

The incident prompted the closure of County Line Rd, with a heavy police presence in the area. Officials are urging the public to avoid the vicinity until the situation is resolved. The identity of the victim and details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed.

As the investigation continues, a coroner has been requested to determine the cause of death. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Will County Sheriff’s Office or Kendall County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
