CEDAR LAKE, IN – An 85-year-old woman from Cedar Lake lost her life in a rollover crash that occurred earlier this morning.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, it happened at 10:20 a.m. in the 11600 block of Wicker Avenue in unincorporated Cedar Lake. Emergency personnel declared the driver deceased upon their arrival.
Early investigations report the driver at the time had been traveling northbound on Wicker Avenue when her vehicle unexpectedly veered into oncoming lanes of traffic. Colliding with a guardrail, the vehicle somersaulted and ultimately crashed into a tree, coming to a rest on its side.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. The identity of the victim has not been released.
