Shooting Outside Menards Store in Indiana Leaves One Dead

MERRILLVILLE, IN – A shooting incident unfolded outside a Menards store in Merrillville, Indiana, on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of one person and leaving another in critical condition, according to the Merrillville Police Department. 

According to reports the incident took place in the vicinity of the Menards entrance, drawing immediate response from law enforcement authorities. Officers arrived at the scene around 11:15 a.m. and discovered a male victim who had been shot near the entrance of the Menards store. The injured individual was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Chicago, listed in critical condition.

Additionally, a female victim was found in the area, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed, although police have confirmed neither were employees of the store.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.  Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to contact Merrillville Police.
